What is Dermaplaning

Dermaplaning is a method of mechanical exfoliation that uses of surgical scalpel blade to scrape off dead skin cells from the surface of the skin and remove fine, vellus hairs.

It is safe for all skin types to help brighten, smooth skin texture, reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, and superficial scarring.

Dermplaning will not cause hair to grow back thicker or darker.

  • What is Dermaneedling

    • Dermaneedling was originally developed as scar therapy. It is also referred to as Micro Needling and Collagen Induction Therapy. Derma or Micro needling uses special needled to create thousands of micro lesions in the skin. These micro lesions allow topical products to penetrate easier and this controlled damage allows the wound to heal slowly and correctly, rather than in emergency mode.

    As the skin is punctured, blood vessels release plasma that sends blood platelets ( white blood cells and endothelial cells ), which release molecular messengers called Growth Factors and Cytokines ( cells signaling molecules that aid cell to cell communication in immune responses and stimulate the movements of cells towards sites of inflammation, infection and trauma ). This micro injury improves cell-to-cell communication and cell function. The damaged skin is replaced with new skin that has improved structure and elasticity.
